Developed an automated, motor-driven food slicer for Sous Chef Studio.

About the project

As an intern for cooking startup Sous Chef Studio, I got to work on a fun project - developing an automated food slicer compatible with their cooking robot technology. Using an Arduino Uno and NEMA motors, I used screw actuators and a rack/pinion design to make a machine that can move a 6x6” piece of food horizontally and perform cuts. Designed to be modular, motors and trays can be easily replaced during the machine’s upkeep. CAD was done in Onshape.
